June 18, 2018: south to Chute Lake

A hot morning, 4km uphill on Gillard Forestry Road, then 12km to Chute Lake Resort. Afterwards, Cindy and I did a Naramata wine tour and then dinner at the Bad Tattoo Brewery in Penticton. 205.5km total to date. Just two more hikes and I will have completed my Okanagan sector (225km) from Summerland to Rock Creek. Then it's on to some overnighters. Rather than carrying a 40-lb backpack for 20 or more kilometres, I may try a hiking travois; after all, from Hope to Castlegar it's relatively flat on an old railway bed, and I get a sore neck just with carrying 15 pounds for four hours.
